Enrico biele | FIRE

works in the Italian federation for the rational use of energy as an expert in energy efficient technologies. Actually he is responsible for the technical-legislative support to the federation's members and for the White certificates training. He is co-author of more about 15 scientific papers and technical reports and author of more than 40 contributions to conference proceedings.



Bernd Wenzel | iner

is chairmen of Institut für nachhaltige Energie- und Ressourcennutzung (INER e.V.) as well as head of Ingenieurbüro für neue Energien (IfnE), research and consulting institutes for renewable energies and climate protection, resident in Berlin. He established IfnE in 2005 and INER in 2011. He has worked on several research projects, i.e. for the German federal ministry for the environment and German federal ministry of economics, various organisations and municipalities. His focus is on economical and technical analysis of climate protection activities and renewable energies in the electricity production.


Andrea Marchisio | ELeMeNS

is founding partner at eLeMeNS and board member of Ridef 2.0, Politecnico di Milano. Previously, he has been Wind Department Manager at APER (now Assorinnovabili) and member of the National Association Network instituted by EWEA, European Wind Energy Association. Andrea Marchisio is involved with policy and regulatory framework concerning the power market, with a special focusing on the integration of RES into the electricity system. He has been involved with Italian electricity industry including leader companies, national and regional institutions and independent regulatory authorities. Graduated in Economics, he holds a second level Master degree at Politecnico di Milano.


Urban Windelen | German Energy Storage Association

is Executive Director of BVES Bundesverband Energiespeicher, the German Energy Storage Association. Preceding this position, he worked as political and strategic advisor for companies and associations such as Royal Dutch Shell and BDE, the Association of German Recycling Industry - always with a strong focus on energy and environmental politics and law. 15 years ago he started his career at the headquarters of the German Christian Democratic Party, CDU. Urban Windelen studied at the University of Bonn and the University of Trier and holds a degree in law.


Florin Popescu | Fraunhofer Fokus

He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University, USA in 2000. He is a Fraunhofer Institute (Berlin) researcher since 2005. He has received distinguished awards such as the Marie Curie Excellence Team grant (2005-2009) for young researchers, in which he led a multi-disciplinary team of researchers in multimodal sensor-assisted robotics and led several other projects at Fraunhofer in renewables forecasting, machine learning approaches to industrial energy management and efficient deployment of smart sensors in urban environments. He is currently the project coordinator of the European Commission's H2020 framework project (ICT programme) 'See.4C' on spatiotemporal forecasting.



Raffaele Salerno | Centro Epson Meteo

General Manager, Chief Science Officer, Chief Operations Officer and co-founder of Centro Epson Meteo, a private applied research centre. He has 30 years of experience on mathematical modelling, numerical weather prediction and air quality modelling. He is currently working on projects related to environmental risks, water management and energy meteorology and is also the CEO at AiP, a private company. He is member of several international and national organisation related to meteorology and geophysics, also as board member. He has also been an operational weather forecaster and a meteorologist for media and tv.


Davide Chiaroni | Energy&Strategy Group

is Associate Professor of business and management engineering at Politecnico di Milano. He is co-founder and Vice Director of the Energy&Strategy Group of the School of Management of Politecnico di Milano. Energy & Strategy Group manages permanent observatories on renewable energies, energy efficiency and smart grids to identify, analyze and discuss business models of top players in Italy.


Giuseppe Dasti | Mediocredito Italiano – Gruppo Intesa Sanpaolo

Giuseppe Dasti holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering, energy sector, achieved in 1987 at the Politecnico di Milano, in the same year he achieved the qualification to the profession of engineer at the Politecnico di Milano. Hired in 1988 as an engineer of the Cariplo’s technical service, he has assumed various roles within the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, a leading Italian bank. Since 2008 works at Mediocredito Italiano (bank of Intesa Sanpaolo Group) with the role of the desk Energy coordinator, specialized facility for the evaluation of projects in renewable energy and energy efficiency.


Stefano Dal Savio | IDM South Tyrol

is in charge of the Ecosystem Energy & Environment unit at  IDM South Tyrol in Bolzano/Bozen. After graduation he worked at the Mechanical and Structural Engineering Laboratory at Trento University, followed by a research position at the EURAC Institute for Renewable Energy in Bolzano/Bozen.


Stefano Nardon| Agenzia per l’Energia Alto Adige CasaClima

Stefano Nardon graduated in Mechanical Engineering in 2004.  During his professional career he gained valuable working experience dealing with energy efficiency issues. Stefano Nardon works for the South Tyrolean Energy Agency  - CasaClima since 2016 where he is responsible for the “CasaClima Factory Program”, a new approach to introduce technical structural measures and organisational strategies in manufacturing and service enterprises.


Dieter Theiner | IIT Institute for Innovative Technologies

In 2011, he was appointed as Division Manager Engineering for Alperia SpA, an Italian utility company with strong focus on renewable energies, where he is currently responsible for the realization of several energy projects in the hydro, district heating and electric distribution sector. Since May 2016 he is also President of the Board of the Institute of Innovative Technologies (IIT), a non-profit research institute dedicated to implement zero-emission mobility and energy storage projects in South Tyrol and along the Brennero corridor.

He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Innsbruck University and an MBA from MCI Management Center in Austria.
