PONTI 2018 - Energy Efficiency in Manufacturing in the 4.0 Era


















Dario Di Santo | FIRE

graduated in mechanical engineering with a focus on energy from Sapienza, he has dedicated himself since his studies to renewable sources and energy efficiency. Over the years he has carried out, first with ENEA, then with FIRE - of which he has been its director since 2007 - and as a freelancer, activities aimed at promoting energy efficiency and sustainable development, dealing with communication and dissemination, surveys and research, European projects, as well as the management of the association and its staff. Themes that have been developed over the years include legislation and incentives, audits and feasibility studies, ESCOs and EPC contracts, energy supplies, financial instruments and cogeneration.













Christoph J. H. Bauerdick | TU Darmstadt

is in charge of the research field Energy 4.0 – Monitoring and Control in the research Group ETA | Energy Technologies and Applications in Production. Furthermore, head of the focus area Energy 4.0 in the Mittelstand 4.0 Kompetenzzentrum Darmstadt (SME 4.0 Competence Center Darmstadt). Co-founder of the energy efficiency corporate network ETA+. After graduation from the University of Tulsa (USA) and the University of Siegen (Germany) he started his research at the University of Darmstadt parallel doing his Ph.D


















Maximilian Müller | VDI Zentrum Ressourceneffizienz

is Project Manager of EU and International Affairs at the VDI Centre for Resource Efficiency (VDI ZRE). He oversees the management and implementation of European and International Resource Efficiency projects. He also coordinates the engagement in the EU-wide agency network on Resource Efficiency and in the European Resource Efficiency Knowledge Centre. Prior to joining VDI ZRE, Maximilian was a Consultant at PwC where he worked in the field of Global Government Incentives with special focus on funding of industrial research, development and innovation. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Development from the University of Vienna and a Master in Business Management from the University of St Andrews.










Fabian Zimmermann | Uni Stuttgart/Fraunhofer IPA

works since 2015 as research associate at the Fraunhofer Institute of Manufacturing Engineering and Automation IPA and the Institute of Energy Efficiency in Production EEP, University of Stuttgart. The main topics of his research are applications of energy storages and the integration in production sites.






















Pasquale Di Franco | ENEA

Nino Di Franco, mechanical engineer graduated at 'La Sapienza' University of Rome, has developed both institutional and professional skills during his career in ENEA. He cooperates with Ministries, Local Authorities, National and International Associations for the development of new legislation, for the assessment of applications to receive incentives, for studies and researches in the field of rational use of energy. At the same time, he carries out activities "in the field" to support companies and industrial districts for energy diagnosis, assessments and feasibility studies. As head of internal services and divisions within ENEA, he managed activities for the amount of several million euros. He is EGE-Certified Energy Management Expert (SECEM) and Energy Manager appointed by ENEA. He is currently contract professor for the matter 'Electric Energetics' at the Faculty of Industrial Engineering of the University of Pavia.








Claudia Wenger | Fujitsu Technology Solutions GmbH

After many years’ experience in HR department in different companies she has been an external partner of Fujitsu since 2004. As part of her work she has influenced the company agreement for Idea- and Innovation Management and introduced idea management software. She is the member of the working group “Energy Management” which implemented the concept of energy/quality and idea management collaboration and successfully resulted in ISO 50001 certification.














Corinna Kammerer | Fujitsu Technology Solutions GmbH

is in charge of product management team at Fujitsu Technology Solutions GmbH in Augsburg/Germany. After many years working as production engineer she changed to her current position as product manager. She is responsible to manage a product over the complete life cycle from product definition, development, production to end-of-life and since 2002 in particular for “Green PC´s”, means managing the environmental impact of a product.

Christoph Pezzei | Rödl&Partner

Christoph Pezzei (Rödl & Partner) works as Tax Consultant and Auditor and is one of the two founding partner of Rödl & Partner Bozen/Bolzano. He advises especially foreign companies investing in Italy helping them to solve every kind of international tax issues, especially regarding income tax law, VAT law, and participates continuously to M&A operations. Many of his clients operate in the renewable energy and energy efficiency sector.






















Massimo Panteleo Gamba | Studio Tecnico Gamba

is the owner and managing director of Studio Gamba specialized in electrical and photovoltaic systems since 1994. Since 2007 he is a member of the CEI, the Italian Electrotechnical Committee within the CT82 "Photovoltaic Systems", CT 316 "Rules for connection to the public MT and BT networks" and CT81 lightning. He is also teacher of training courses organized by the CEI on the following subjects: rules for connection to the public LV and HV network, photovoltaic systems, storage systems, wind farms, hydroelectric plants, charging systems for electric vehicles, safety during work on electric vehicles and hybrids, maintenance of HV/LV electric substations. Since 2002 he collaborates with the association Albiqual and Confartigianato for the technical training of electrical installers.













Matteo Donelli | Scuola Superiore Sant´Anna

is an LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) and environmental product management specialist operating in the expertise network of Scuola Superiore S.Anna - Pisa (Italy). He graduated at Cattolica University in Economics. He has been working on LCA and Environmental Labels (Environmental Product Declarations - EPD, Ecolabels, Product Environmental Footprints - PEF), being involved in several International EU projects. He is a member of the Technical Secretariat of the European PEF pilot for beer products.











Stefano Dal Savio | IDM South Tyrol

is in charge of the Ecosystem Energy & Environment unit at IDM South Tyrol in Bolzano/Bozen. After graduation he worked at the Mechanical and Structural Engineering Laboratory at Trento University, followed by a research position at the EURAC Institute for Renewable Energy in Bolzano/Bozen.












Wolfram Sparber| EURAC

is Head of the Institute for Renewable Energy at EURAC research since 2005. The Institutes activities are focused in the field of application of solar energy systems and energy efficiency measures within buildings and cities. Since 2011 he is Vice President of the Board of the European Technology Platform Renewable Heating and Cooling and since January 2016 he is chairman of the executive board of Alperia spa, a South Tyrolean energy provider.














Ulrich Santa | CasaClima Agency

is the Managing Director of the Energy Agency South Tyrol – KlimaHaus, an internationally renowned competence center for energy efficiency and sustainability standards for buildings. He graduated with a computer engineering degree from the Technical University of Vienna and received his PhD from the BOK University. Before taking his current position, he had run his own business and worked for an infrastructure operator.
